Lopez comes into the arena with Music blaring out of the sound system. Flanery has chosen Dropkick Murphys - Shipping up to boston as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Javier Lopez had a look across the ring there at his opponent. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lopez feints and as Flanery raises his hands in defense, Lopez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Flanery keeping moving, preventing Lopez from controlling successfully.

Flanery is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Flanery wants to stand and escape but Lopez is having none of it.
Flanery working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Lopez.

Lopez drops back looking for a leg! Flanery is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Flanery manages to kick Lopez off! Lopez jumps back into Flanery's guard.

Lopez changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Flanery looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Lopez is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Flanery is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Lopez stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Flanery blocks a head kick by Lopez.
Lopez fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Flanery throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Flanery throws a right and a left that both miss.
Flanery cracks Lopez with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Flanery closes the distance looking to clinch

and Lopez counters by clinching up.

Lopez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Flanery avoids a punch combination nicely.
Lopez misses with a head kick.
Flanery tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Flanery misses with a body kick.
Flanery shoots for a double leg takedown but Lopez sprawls well. He's pushed Flanery's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Lopez shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Lopez was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
