Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jovan Dickons (ranked 2860 p4p, 3825 weight class) and Marcus Wheeler (ranked 366 p4p, 478 weight class). Dickons's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Sidung. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jovan Dickons!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcus Wheeler!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dickons gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

We've been hearing good reports from Dickons's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dickons shoots in looking for a takedown. Wheeler tries to sprawl out of it but Dickons keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wheeler manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Wheeler swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Wheeler digs a good hook to Dickons's body.
Dickons dives in for a single leg takedown but Wheeler sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Dickons has Wheeler pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Wheeler manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Dickons pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Dickons closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Wheeler did well to prevent Dickons getting side control.

Wheeler manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Dickons keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Dickons tries to score a body lock takedown but Wheeler shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Dickons has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Wheeler is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Dickons goes for a takedown attempt but Wheeler pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Dickons misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
It seemed like Wheeler was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Dickons is breathing heavily.
Wheeler lands an overhand right.
Dickons shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wheeler as he jumps to the side.
Wheeler throws out a counter right but Dickons avoids it with no problem.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dickons closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Wheeler's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wheeler is trying to control the position but Dickons postures up.
Wheeler bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dickons's guard.

Wheeler won't allow Dickons to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dickons not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Dickons is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Wheeler passes Dickons's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Dickons pushes Wheeler off and gets back to his feet.

Wheeler gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Wheeler ducks under a wild hook from Dickons.
Wheeler connects with a looping right hand.
Marcus Wheeler seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Dickons misses with a takedown
and Wheeler counters with a stiff right hand.
Wheeler throws a shot to the body.
Marcus Wheeler is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wheeler scores with a nice right hand.
Wheeler displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dickons.
Wheeler tests Dickons's chin there with a solid looking shot.

and Wheeler counters with a crisp right that sends Dickons to the canvas! Wheeler follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!

Marcus Wheeler spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
