PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Camble (ranked 567 p4p, 647 weight class) and Razkan Karmax (ranked 79 p4p, 88 weight class). Karmax has chosen BloodSports as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Camble!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Razkan Karmax!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Camble has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Karmax.
A swing and a miss from Karmax.
Karmax takes a swing at Camble's ribcage but misses.
Camble rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Karmax counters with a left and a right that stings Camble.
Karmax works Camble's body with a nice hook.
Karmax misses with a straight right.
Camble throws a hook to the side of Karmax's head but Karmax sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Karmax has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Camble is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Camble drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
A jab from Karmax misses.
Camble connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Camble misses with a lunging right hand
and Karmax connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Camble shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Karmax is trying to defend but Camble finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Karmax is defending against the submission attempts here by Camble.

Camble prevents Karmax from improving his position.
Camble wants to pass to mount but Karmax is defending the position.
Camble trying to control the action but Karmax is working from the bottom.
Karmax is looking to control Camble's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Karmax avoid being mounted?
Karmax keeping hold of Camble's head, controlling as best he can.
Camble winds up and cracks Karmax with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Karmax regains full guard. Nicely done.

Karmax looking for a sweep. Not yet Karmax, not yet.
Karmax not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Karmax is pulling down on Camble's head to control his posture.
Camble trying to control but Karmax is working from the bottom.
Karmax keeping full guard, as Camble tries to pass.
Camble wants to control from the top but Karmax keeps moving.

Karmax wants to sweep here but Camble controlling him for the moment.
Karmax not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Camble looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Camble with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Karmax to score with a decent uppercut.
Camble tries to score a power double leg takedown but Karmax sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Camble somewhat.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Karmax! But no joy.
Karmax lands a leg kick that knocks Camble off balance momentarily.
Karmax works Camble's body with a nice hook.
Camble throws a lazy right hand but Karmax sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Karmax looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Karmax lunges at Camble with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Camble's hand.
Camble looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Camble misses with a series of wild punches.
A little jabbing left from Karmax on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Camble slips a straight right by Karmax.
Camble misses with a hook.
Karmax throws a big shot that misses.
Camble misses with a body shot.
The crowd cheers as Camble lands an impressive looking overhand right. Karmax doesn't seem phased though.
Camble throws a body punch but Karmax moves out of range.
A nice leg kick from Camble, right into the meat of the thigh.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Camble throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
The fighters circling - Camble throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Karmax appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Camble misses with an uppercut. Karmax saw that one coming.
Camble throws a jab but it's blocked by Karmax.
A thudding body kick lands there by Camble!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Razkan Karmax will probably get the nod.
That's time! Camble's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

No joy there for Karmax, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Camble waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Karmax.
Camble throws an overhand right that lands on Karmax's shoulder, as Karmax tries to avoid the shot.
Camble throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Camble shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Camble showed some decent athleticism there.
Camble looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Karmax with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Karmax preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Camble slows the pace down in half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Camble thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Karmax's head.
Camble thows a huge punch but Karmax dodges it nicely.
Camble is trying to control the action in half guard but Karmax is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Karmax tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Camble has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Karmax can't escape the position.
Camble lands a nice shot to the head.
Karmax wants to hold on but Camble pushes him away.

Camble jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Karmax is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Karmax and Camble has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Camble wants to lay and pray for a moment but Karmax keeps working.
Karmax is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.
Karmax tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Camble wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Camble is working Karmax over with some ground and pound from side control.
Mike Camble overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Karmax gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Karmax regains full guard. Nicely done.
Camble stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Karmax swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Karmax throws an overhand right that lands on Camble's shoulder, as Camble tries to avoid the shot.
Mike Camble seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Camble misses with a straight right.
Camble fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
It seemed like Karmax was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Camble's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

and Karmax counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Karmax takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

and Karmax counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Camble thinking.
Camble shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Camble dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Razkan Karmax seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Camble swings widly with a right hand
and Karmax counters with a straight right hand.
Karmax takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Karmax throws a body shot but no joy.
Camble uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Karmax.
Karmax moves out of range of the body kick from Camble.

Camble closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Camble throws a lazy uppercut
and Karmax counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Camble jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Karmax doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Karmax misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Camble.
Karmax lands the left hand.
Karmax throws a jab but it's blocked by Camble.
A little feinted left hand from Camble on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Karmax throws a shot from downtown. Camble moves away and avoids it.
Camble misses with a hook. Karmax ducked under it nicely.
Karmax keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Camble lands a glancing blow to the side of Karmax's head.

Camble gets the takedown into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Camble is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Karmax knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Karmax manages to work his way to half guard, despite Camble's best efforts.

Camble is thwarting Karmax's attempts to control the position.
Karmax wants to improve his position but Camble is controlling well.
Karmax is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Camble's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Camble's back!
Camble tries to roll but Karmax sticks to his back.
Camble is working hard here to advance position.
Karmax is looking to control Camble but Camble is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Camble tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Karmax wants to control but Camble is keeping him busy.
Karmax is looking to pass Camble's guard but actually Camble recovers to full guard.
Camble controls Karmax momentarily but Karmax frees himself.

Camble keeping moving, preventing Karmax from controlling successfully.
Karmax is in close to Camble's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Karmax is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Camble wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Camble looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Razkan Karmax comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Karmax has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
