The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ralf wants to land a leg kick but Smith is out of range.
Smith shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ralf pinned against the cage. Ralf gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ralf throws a leg kick but Smith sees it coming and moves out of range.
Ralf lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Smith is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ralf shoots in but Smith avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Ralf tries to work over Smith's front leg with a kick but Smith checks it.
Smith stuffs the takedown attempt from Ralf. Ralf gets slowly back to his feet.
Ralf throws a right hand that Smith ducks under and follows up with a left that Smith also avoids with ease.
Ralf shoots in for a double leg but Smith sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Greig Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Osman Ralf.
Smith moves out of range of the body kick from Ralf.
Ralf misses with a body shot.
A nice inside leg kick there by Ralf. That's going to slow Smith down.
Ralf misses with a straight left.
Ralf looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Good work by Smith as he checks the leg kick.
Smith misses with a low kick.
Smith scores with a hook to the body. Ralf takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Ralf throws a low kick but Smith avoids it.
Ralf looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Ralf throws a low kick, looking for Smith's leg but Smith calmly moves out of range.
Ralf does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Ralf moves forwards but Smith connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Smith closes the distance and clinches.

Smith escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Smith getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Ralf tries to score with a low kick but Smith moves his leg out of the way.
Smith closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ralf circles away.
Ralf tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Smith is able to avoid easily.

Smith on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Ralf. Ralf obviously looking to wear him down.

Smith closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Ralf managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Smith.
Ralf tries to escape but Smith is in control.

Smith thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Ralf is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Smith is looking to take a break and control but Ralf is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Smith postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith lands a decent elbow from side control.
Smith working the ground and pound.

Ralf is trying to buck Smith off.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Ralf is trying to control Smith's posture but Smith avoids it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Smith has Ralf up against the cage in a clinch.
Smith has had enough of the clinch but Ralf keeps him there for the moment.
Smith prevents Ralf from breaking the clinch.
Smith wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ralf has him pressed against the cage.
Ralf prevents Smith from breaking the clinch.

Smith has had enough of the clinch but Ralf keeps him there for the moment.
Ralf looking to throw knees to the head but Smith is blocking nicely.
Smith is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Smith has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Ralf is trying to keep an underhook but Smith manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Ralf is looking to escape.
Smith working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Ralf trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Smith manages to pass to mount!
Smith wants to control the pace but Ralf is squirming around nicely.
Smith really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Smith prevents Ralf from getting the reversal.
Smith has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ralf tries to buck Smith off but he can't manage it.

Smith working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Ralf is trying to stand.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Smith quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Smith but it's paid off an Ralf is forced to tap! Nice work by Smith.
