The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee slaps away a takedown attempt from Voluspa, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Voluspa slips under a jab from Lee.
Voluspa shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Lee counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Lee misses with a double jab.
Voluspa feints the counter takedown.
Lee smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Lee throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Voluspa decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Voluspa winds up and cracks Lee with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Lee's coaches at Xtreme Black House have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

Voluspa has control of Lee's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Lee regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Lee is trying desperately to improve position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
