PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alistair Ubereem (ranked 5361 p4p, 4215 weight class) and Deontay DJ (ranked 174 p4p, 140 weight class). DJ comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Lil Scrappy - No Problem kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DJ throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

DJ tries a head kick but it misses.
DJ pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
A nice combination there by DJ.

It looks like Alistair Ubereem has been cut.
DJ dodges the punch combination from Ubereem.
DJ tries to move into range but Ubereem moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ubereem jabbing away but nothing is landing.
DJ has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Ubereem throws a right and a left that both miss.
Ubereem looks to score with a jab to the body but DJ is just out of range.

DJ feints a jab promting Ubereem to slip. DJ then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Ubereem slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
DJ misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ubereem.

Ubereem takes a swing at DJ's ribcage but misses.
DJ tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

DJ throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ubereem.
DJ slips a jab from Ubereem.
Ubereem throws a body shot but no joy.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from DJ! But no joy.

DJ lands a big head kick that sends Ubereem tumbling to the mat! DJ takes a step backwards and waves Ubereem back to his feet - he wants the finish!

DJ blocks the body kick.
Oh Ubereem is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ubereem throws a body punch but DJ moves out of range.
Ubereem seems to have got his legs back now.
Ubereem connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
DJ uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ubereem.
DJ looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

DJ doesn't manage to clinch there - Ubereem circles away.
DJ wants to clinch up but Ubereem keeps it at a distance.
DJ misses with a double jab.
DJ tries for a takedown but Ubereem circles away easily
and Ubereem counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

It looks like Deontay DJ has been cut.
Ubereem steps in with a hook that catches DJ right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Ubereem follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! DJ looks absolutely devastated.
