PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Riley Knox (ranked 20602 p4p, 22476 weight class) and Carlotos Spiteri (ranked 705 p4p, 676 weight class). Knox comes to the ring accompanied by Roy Jones Jr - I Smoke, I Drink feat. Mr. Magic & Youngbloodz). Spiteri has chosen Day to day basis as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Carlotos Spiteri!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Thiago Cunha and Seu Braga.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spiteri with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Spiteri jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Spiteri throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Knox throwing a counter right hand but Spiteri manages to avoid it.
Spiteri with a nice calf kick.
Spiteri lands a body shot.
Knox takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Spiteri lands with a thumping leg kick.
A chopping leg kick lands by Spiteri.
Spiteri stuns Knox with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Knox steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Spiteri.
Knox seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Knox looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Left hook, right uppercut from Spiteri.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Knox moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Spiteri connects with an inside leg kick.
Spiteri lands with a nice body punch.
Spiteri scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Knox doesn't seem bothered though.
Knox moves in looking to clinch but Spiteri pushes him off.
Spiteri paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Knox uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Spiteri.
Spiteri is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Knox.
A left lands for Spiteri.
Spiteri misses with a shot to the body
and Knox counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Spiteri throws a left and a right that both miss
and Knox counters with a straight right hand.
A leg kick checked by Knox.
Spiteri throws a quick inside leg kick.
A left lands for Knox.
Spiteri stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Knox.
Spiteri is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Knox rather than just go for the knockout.
Spiteri fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Knox has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Spiteri scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Spiteri misses with a right hand

and Knox counters with a perfectly timed counter left hook that drops Spiteri to the mat, face first! Knox goes to the neutral corner and waits for the referee to start the count. Spiteri is back to hise feet already though and looking to continue the bout! Exciting stuff!

Spiteri misses with a double jab.
Carlotos Spiteri seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Knox misses with a head kick.
Spiteri lands a nice leg kick that just misses Knox's sensitive parts.
Spiteri thuds his right hand into Knox's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Spiteri walks straight into devastating uppercut and drops to the floor, clearly wobbled! Can he beat the count? 4,5,6,7... he's up! And he's down again! The ref steps in and calls an end to the fight! What a punch that was!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Riley Knox!
A relieved looking Riley Knox thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
