PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ness Webster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Quebedeaux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kevin Quebedeaux told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ness Webster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kevin Quebedeaux!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Webster throws a sloppy head kick and Quebedeaux moves out of range easily.

Webster drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Quebedeaux is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Webster throws a strike but Quebedeaux rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Webster looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Quebedeaux has picked Webster up and slammed him! Webster can't keep hold of the triangle and Quebedeaux manages to pass to side control!
Webster regains half guard.
Webster is trying to get back to full guard.
Webster wants to get back to full guard but Quebedeaux has passed into side control.

Webster is wriggling around trying to escape.
Webster is working hard here to advance position.
Quebedeaux looking to control and managing it successfully.
Webster sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Webster looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Quebedeaux decides to stand and escape the position.
Webster drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
The fight stays on the outside here - Quebedeaux looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Quebedeaux throws the left hand but Webster avoids the punch easily.

Quebedeaux tries to clinch up.
Quebedeaux tries to clinch but Webster moves out of range.
Quebedeaux displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Webster throws a nice inside leg kick.
Webster takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Webster decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Webster is pressing down on Quebedeaux's thigh, looking to free his foot. Quebedeaux is holding on for now.

Webster thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Webster is thwarting Quebedeaux's attempts to control the position.

Quebedeaux kicks off Webster and gets to his feet.
Quebedeaux tests Webster's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Quebedeaux throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Webster.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Quebedeaux.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Kevin Quebedeaux will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Webster shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Quebedeaux but Quebedeaux pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Webster misses with a head kick.
Webster throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Webster dodges the punch combination from Quebedeaux.
No joy there for Quebedeaux, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Quebedeaux takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Webster takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Quebedeaux throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Webster's waist but Webster gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Quebedeaux off to one side.
Webster throws a low kick but Quebedeaux avoids it.

so Webster counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Webster throws a strike but Quebedeaux rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Webster looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Quebedeaux must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Webster trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Quebedeaux avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Quebedeaux trying to stand up but can't free himself from Webster's guard.

Webster is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Quebedeaux would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Quebedeaux wants to pass the guard but Webster is keeping the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Webster has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Quebedeaux can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Quebedeaux is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Webster has his foot on Quebedeaux's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Quebedeaux works his way back into a safe position though.
Webster keeping moving, preventing Quebedeaux from controlling successfully.

Webster looking for a triangle here. Quebedeaux is fighting it but it looks tight! Webster pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Quebedeaux is tapping out - this one is all over!
