PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Horosaki Sinjiko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Rotten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Horosaki Sinjiko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Johnny Rotten!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rotten tries to close the distance and clinch but Sinjiko swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sinjiko looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Rotten fails to land the takedown.
Rotten shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sinjiko as he avoids it easily.
Sinjiko moves in looking to clinch but Rotten pushes him off.
Sinjiko fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Sinjiko throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Rotten closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sinjiko to the mat! Sinjiko manages to get full guard.

Rotten passes Sinjiko's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Sinjiko slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sinjiko is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Rotten is controlling him well.

Sinjiko tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Rotten wants to control the pace but Sinjiko is squirming around nicely.

Sinjiko is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Sinjiko blocking the ground and pound.

Rotten is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Rotten moves in looking to clinch but Sinjiko pushes him off.
A left and a right from Rotten both land. Nice combination.
Sinjiko shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Sinjiko tries to close the distance and clinch but Rotten swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Sinjiko tries to keep at a distance but Rotten has taken the fight into the clinch.

Come on Rotten - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Rotten has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sinjiko uses from the top position.

Rotten looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Rotten is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That's time! Sinjiko's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Rotten stuffs the takedown attempt from Sinjiko. Sinjiko gets slowly back to his feet.
Sinjiko circles away from the clinch attempt.
Rotten throws a series of punches but Sinjiko moves out of range.

Rotten is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Rotten wants to stand but Sinjiko has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Rotten decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

and Sinjiko counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Sinjiko walks forward, straight into a front kick from Rotten.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Rotten throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Rotten thuds his shin into the meat of Sinjiko's side.
Rotten has his takedown stuffed

and Sinjiko decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rotten's guard.
Rotten is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Sinjiko has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

That was a close second round but I would say that Horosaki Sinjiko will probably get the nod.

Rotten shoots and misses

so Sinjiko counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Sinjiko tries to free his leg and advance position but Rotten is retaining full guard.
Rotten has a closed guard, preventing Sinjiko from standing up.
Rotten tries to strike from the bottom.
Rotten is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Rotten is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Rotten wants to get back to his feet but Sinjiko passes into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Rotten is looking to control Sinjiko's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rotten avoid being mounted?
Sinjiko knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rotten on the ground.
Sinjiko takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Sinjiko tries to pass to full mount but Rotten defends it.
The fighters are battling for position here. Rotten manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rotten bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sinjiko's guard.
Rotten wants to control from the top but Sinjiko keeps moving.
Rotten is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Rotten stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sinjiko swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sinjiko has his foot on Rotten's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rotten works his way back into a safe position though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rotten digs a good body shot into Sinjiko's ribs.

Rotten is looking to reverse the position.

Rotten throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Horosaki Sinjiko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Rotten.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
