The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Benandonner.

Benandonner decides to stand back up. Benandonner steps back and let's Fujita get back to his feet.
Fujita closes this distance looking for a takedown but Benandonner circles away.
Fujita shoots in but Benandonner avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Benandonner dives in and scores a takedown into Fujita's guard.

Benandonner drops back, looking for a kneebar! Fujita looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Fujita looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Fujita!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Both fighters take a look at the clock.

Benandonner wants to control but Fujita postures up.
Benandonner holding on.
Benandonner manages to get back to half guard.
Benandonner controlling the position well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Benandonner moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Benandonner pulls Fujita in close to his closed guard and prevents Fujita from doing any damage or advancing position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Benandonner manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fujita manages to get himself to full guard.

Benandonner seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Benandonner is working for a guillotine from mount but Fujita frees his head quite easily.
