PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Stark (ranked 132 p4p, 299 weight class) and Mantak Garuda (ranked 24 p4p, 45 weight class). Garuda has chosen Djiin Djiin as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stark is trying hard to land a takedown here. Garuda sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

and Stark counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Garuda is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Stark has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Garuda wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Garuda is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Stark shoots for a double leg takedown but Garuda sprawls well. He's pushed Stark's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Stark changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Garuda tries to avoid it but Stark manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Garuda to the ground. Garuda escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Garuda! But no joy.

A low kick lands for Garuda.
Stark doesn't succeed with the takedown
enabling Garuda to counter with a crisp jab.
Tony Stark seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Garuda keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
As Stark backs off Garuda throws a huge counter combo but Stark manages to avoid it all.

Garuda lands a big head kick that sends Stark tumbling to the mat! Garuda takes a step backwards and waves Stark back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Stark is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Stark get stunned by a cross and takes another one on the button. Stark stumbles backwards and tries to bounce back off the cage but Garuda runs in and jumps on him with a leaping lead hook that puts him out! Wow, that was highlight reel stuff! Awesome finish!
