PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Law (ranked 1327 p4p, 1269 weight class) and Leonard Nimoy (ranked 201 p4p, 191 weight class). Law comes into the arena with Country Boy Can Survive blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tyson Law!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leonard Nimoy!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Atkins and Andrew Berry.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nimoy lands a glancing blow to the side of Law's head.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Law.
Nimoy lands with an overhand left.
Law defending well as Nimoy loads up on a big left hand.
Law is looking for a counter combo.
Law ducks right into an uppercut from Nimoy.
Nimoy wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Nimoy throws out a leg kick but Law moves out of range and Nimoy only half commits.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Law fails with a takedown attempt.
Law shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nimoy but Nimoy pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyson Law. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nimoy looks to land a combination but Law avoids it well.
Nimoy connects with a nice looking jab.

Law throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Nimoy tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Law is in Nimoy's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Law drops back looking for a leg! Nimoy is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Nimoy manages to kick Law off! Law jumps back into Nimoy's guard.

Law postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Nimoy is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Law, into his guard.

Nimoy trying to control but Law is working from the bottom.

Nimoy is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Law has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Nimoy is looking to defend but Law has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Nimoy! Law pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Nimoy taps out and this one is all over!
