Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Danny Brook (ranked 1194 p4p, 1182 weight class) and Corwin Anstey (ranked 183 p4p, 180 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Danny Brook!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Corwin Anstey!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anstey lands with a nice combination. Brook backs away looking to recover.

It looks like Danny Brook has been cut.
Brook walks into a straight right hand from Anstey.
Anstey throws out a loose jab but Brook uses good head movement to avoid it.
Anstey looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Anstey misses with a straight left.

Brook fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Anstey, pushing him back against the cage.
Brook has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Anstey after a bit of a struggle.

Anstey breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A swing and a miss from Anstey.
Anstey throws a right hand that Brook ducks under and follows up with a left that Brook also avoids with ease.

Anstey moves into the clinch.
Brook is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Anstey pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Brook turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Brook manages to end up in side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Anstey wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Brook creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Anstey sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Brook is looking to take a break and control but Anstey is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Anstey really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brook. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Anstey is trying to buck Brook off.

Anstey is trying to control Brook's posture but Brook avoids it.

Brook tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Brook has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Brook throws a strike aimed at the side of Anstey's head but Anstey avoids it well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Anstey tries to escape but Brook is in control.

Brook tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Anstey is pushing Brook's head away, looking to escape. Brook manages to hold on to the position though.
Anstey prevents Brook from moving into mount.
Anstey parries the strikes from Brook easily there. Brook is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Anstey to escape.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Brook passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Anstey!
Poor strikes thrown by Brook there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Brook throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Anstey because Brook loaded up on that one.

Anstey's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Brook has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brook lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Anstey squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Anstey gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Brook thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Anstey's head.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Anstey wants to stand but Brook is controlling the position.
Brook pushes down on Anstey's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Brook is working for a submission of some sort.
Anstey wants to get back to his feet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Anstey throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Brook slips a jab and a cross from Anstey.
Brook changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Anstey swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Anstey throws a right and a left that both miss.
Brook lands a body shot.
Anstey lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Anstey throws a series of punches but Brook moves out of range.

Brook drives through and clinches with Anstey against the cage.

Anstey breaks from the clinch.
Anstey throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Brook dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Brook misses the jab.
Brook shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Anstey sprawls well. Anstey wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Brook gets slowly back to his feet.
Anstey circles away from the clinch attempt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Anstey lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Brook circles away quickly and effectively.

Brook closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Anstey's guard.
Anstey wants to stand and escape but Brook is having none of it.
Brook wants to control from the top but Anstey keeps moving.
Brook is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Corwin Anstey will probably get the nod - 10:9.

That's time! Brook's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Anstey gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Anstey tries to break free but Brook pushes him back against the cage.
Anstey is pressed up against the cage. Brook has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Anstey down to the mat. Anstey avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Left hook, right uppercut from Anstey.
Nice defenses there by Brook.

Brook looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Brook is looking to take a break and control but Anstey is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Brook slips a nice elbow through Anstey's hands, connecting with Anstey's forehead.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Anstey tries to score a power double leg takedown but Brook sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Anstey somewhat.
It looked like Brook wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Brook tries to clinch but Anstey moves out of range.
Brook clobbers Anstey with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
A looping hook to the body misses from Brook. Anstey does a little dance to reset his feet.
Brook avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Brook seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Brook gets a clinch.
Anstey wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Anstey is pushing Brook up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Brook tries for a takedown but Anstey manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Danny Brook. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Brook goes for a takedown in the clinch but Anstey prevents it.
