Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Raul Kyshenko (ranked 2380 p4p, 2405 weight class) and Hyseon Whang (ranked 309 p4p, 313 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Raul Kyshenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hyseon Whang!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kyshenko shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Whang's guard.
Kyshenko forces his way into half guard.

Whang is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kyshenko pulls his head out easily.
Kyshenko seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Whang does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Kyshenko is trying to work for a kimura but Whang is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kyshenko is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Whang has escaped the position, nice work there.

Kyshenko tries for a kimura but Whang is defending well.

Kyshenko is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Whang makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Whang.

Whang had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kyshenko defends it easily.
Whang should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Whang is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Kyshenko passes Whang's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Whang makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Whang.

Whang looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Whang is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kyshenko defends well.
Kyshenko stays in close to Whang's body and controls the position.
Whang can't keep his opponent in guard - Kyshenko advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Kyshenko wants to pass the guard but Whang is defending well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Whang gets back to full guard.
Kyshenko trying to control the position from guard on top but Whang is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Whang gets caught napping as Kyshenko dives in and scores a takedown. Whang manages to retain guard.
Kyshenko is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Whang can do to turn this around?

Whang has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Kyshenko is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Whang.

Kyshenko goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Whang has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Kyshenko but great work by Whang.

Whang thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Whang has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Beast Nest. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Whang tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Whang has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kyshenko regains half guard.

Whang is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kyshenko doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Whang.
Kyshenko is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Whang is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kyshenko defends it well.

Kyshenko is staying active underneath Whang, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
