Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chan Siam (ranked 623 p4p, 1972 weight class) and Action Bastard (ranked 71 p4p, 206 weight class). Bastard has chosen Japanese And Lovely - Jucifer as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chan Siam!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 20 - 4, fighting out of Los Angeles, Action Bastard!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Sosuke Kotani and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bastard bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Bastard throws a jab when Siam was well out of range.
Siam thinks about countering with a body kick.
Siam moves out of range as Bastard strikes.
Siam uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Bastard.
Bastard tests Siam's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Bastard has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Siam closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

and Bastard cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

A quick step to the side and Siam tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bastard is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Siam.
Siam swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Bastard.

I was talking to Siam's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Siam tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Siam has hold of one of Bastard's legs. Bastard is fighting the takedown attempt but Siam gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bastard is on top in guard.

Bastard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Siam swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Siam has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Bastard is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Siam.

Siam lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Siam feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Action Bastard comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Bastard has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
