The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakuraba wants to clinch up but Vatanen keeps it at a distance.
Vatanen takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Vatanen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sakuraba as he avoids it easily.
Sakuraba throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Vatanen looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Sakuraba throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sakuraba looks to land a right hand but Vatanen moved out of range.

Vatanen looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Vatanen is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Sakuraba has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Sakuraba!

Sakuraba is really struggling to control Vatanen but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Vatanen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sakuraba.

Vatanen shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Vatanen was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Vatanen is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Sakuraba can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
