Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Leo Kohl (ranked 4608 p4p, 3094 weight class) and Blake Monle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Leo Kohl!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Blake Monle!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Josh West and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kohl leaves Monle with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Monle gets a takedown into half guard.
Monle is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Kohl tries to get to full guard but Monle has control of the leg.
Kohl keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kohl is looking for a sweep. Monle is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Monle is trying to work for a kimura but Kohl is defending well.
Monle has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Kohl has hold of Monle's hands but Monle slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kohl trying to hold on to Monle's head to control him but Monle postures up.

Monle is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kohl doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Monle.
Kohl tries to roll over but Monle keeps him under control.
Monle is trying to control the action in half guard but Kohl is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Monle is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kohl is looking for a sweep. Monle is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Monle in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Kohl tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Monle!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Blake Monle!
