The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Conealy keeps the fight on the outside.
Pereira cracks Conealy with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Pereira tries to close the distance and clinch up but Conealy swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Alex Pereira seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Conealy shoots in looking for a takedown. Pereira tries to sprawl out of it but Conealy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pereira manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Pereira connects with a good right hand that stumbles Conealy. Conealy circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Conealy darts in looking for a takedown but Pereira gets double underhooks and turns Conealy into the cage.

Conealy dives in and grabs Pereira's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pereira pushes down on Conealy's head and hops out.

The fighters circle momentarily. Pereira darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Conealy jumps guard but Pereira turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Pereira lands a right hand that snaps the head of Conealy backwards.

Conealy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pereira pinned against the cage. Pereira gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Pereira scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Pereira lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Conealy avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
