The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pekkala stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pekkala wants it to stay on the feet.
Pekkala dodges the punch combination from Berachi .
Pekkala is looking to counter the offense by Berachi and move into the clinch.
Berachi shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Berachi was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Pekkala is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Berachi is thwarting Pekkala's attempts to control the position.

Berachi not doing much here.
Pekkala is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Berachi 's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Berachi 's back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Berachi covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Pekkala.
Berachi turns into Pekkala and is now in his guard.
Berachi has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Pekkala is proving hard to escape from.
Pekkala looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Berachi is defending well. Pekkala quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Berachi has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Pekkala celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

In his post fight interview, Usko Pekkala started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
