Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Kolov (ranked 4580 p4p, 4559 weight class) and Serge Lapierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dan Kolov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Serge Lapierre!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Phil Schofield and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lapierre moves out of range of the leg kick from Kolov.
Horrible takedown attempt by Kolov or perhaps it was just good defense by Lapierre, which made it look bad.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kolov.
Kolov blocks a head kick by Lapierre.
Kolov looks to clinch
and Lapierre counters with a right hand to the body.

Lapierre manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Kolov on his heels. He'll look to pass Kolov's guard now, I'm sure.
Lapierre is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Kolov keeping full guard, as Lapierre tries to pass.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kolov is pulling down on Lapierre's head to control his posture.
Kolov on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kolov tries to get out of the position.

Lapierre sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kolov's guard.
Lapierre is keen to just control but Kolov is a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kolov moves into full guard.
Lapierre pushes down on Kolov's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Kolov is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Lapierre jumps into side control!

Lapierre tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Kolov is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Kolov tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.

Lapierre goes for an armbar but Kolov turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Kolov.

Lapierre pulls Kolov in close to prevent any damage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Kolov tries to free his leg and advance position but Lapierre is retaining full guard.
Kolov wants to control from the top but Lapierre keeps moving.

Lapierre is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kolov defends well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lapierre has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Kolov has passed into side control.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Serge Lapierre dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kolov.
Lapierre rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kolov moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Lapierre moves in looking to clinch but Kolov pushes him off.
Kolov uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lapierre.
Kolov ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lapierre moves away.
Kolov attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Lapierre fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Lapierre lands a nice shot that snaps Kolov's head back.

and Lapierre decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kolov's guard.

Lapierre has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Lapierre is fighting to break Kolov's control of his arms but Kolov is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Lapierre drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kolov looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kolov looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kolov!

Kolov tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lapierre is working to avoid the ground and pound but Kolov connects with a decent elbow.
You can see the frustration on Lapierre's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Lapierre tries to bench press Kolov off him but Kolov keeps the position.

Kolov wants to control but Lapierre is keeping him busy.
Kolov wants to stand but Lapierre is controlling his arm.
Kolov is looking to take a break and control but Lapierre is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Lapierre is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Kolov is controlling him well.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Kolov tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Lapierre just stands there and leans against the cage.

Lapierre is not content to let Kolov control the position.

The fighters are battling for position here. Lapierre manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kolov has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Lapierre is proving hard to escape from.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Serge Lapierre will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Kolov's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Kolov is trying to maintain a safe position but Lapierre gets an underhook and turns Kolov into the cage.

Lapierre has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Kolov clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Lapierre is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kolov sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Kolov makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Kolov is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Lapierre blocks the body kick.
Lapierre avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Kolov drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Kolov grinds an elbow into Lapierre's temple.
Lapierre tries to bench press Kolov off him but Kolov keeps the position.

The strikes coming from Kolov are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Lapierre tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Lapierre is not content to let Kolov control the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dan Kolov.
I think Lapierre has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
