Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cory Ashby (ranked 5374 p4p, 6283 weight class) and James Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Jones!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Phil Schofield and James Atkins.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones closes the distance and clinches up with Ashby, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes Ashby against the cage but Ashby circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Jones shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Ashby is trying to maintain the position but Jones is very close to passing his half guard.
Jones not landing any meaningful shots this time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones is trying to control the action in half guard but Ashby is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Ashby tries to roll over but Jones keeps him under control.
Ashby is breathing heavily.
Jones thows a huge punch but Ashby dodges it nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones is pressing down on Ashby's thigh, looking to free his foot. Ashby is holding on for now.
Ashby is not content to let Jones control the position.
Jones trying to control from Ashby's half guard. Ashby has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Jones trying to stand up but can't free himself from Ashby's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ashby working for a triangle but Jones defends it easily.

Jones stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Ashby has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Jones manages to get his head free but now Ashby has transitioned to an armbar! Jones grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Ashby! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
