PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rebel Jones (ranked 3466 p4p, 4260 weight class) and Adeyloe Ndawy (ranked 427 p4p, 498 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rebel Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Adeyloe Ndawy!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones misses with a jab, cross combination.
Ndawy fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jones avoids it really well and circles away.
Jones fails to land with a series of punches.

Ndawy clinches with his opponent.

Jones breaks the clinch.

Ndawy rushes Jones and presses him up against the ropes.
Ndawy tries to pull guard but Jones forces him back to his feet, against the ropes.
Jones has had enough of the clinch but Ndawy keeps him there for the moment.
Ndawy tries to pull guard but Jones holds him up against the ropes and eventually Ndawy drops back down to his feet.
Rebel Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adeyloe Ndawy.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ndawy lands a nice short elbow.

Ndawy looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jones with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

That was a close round but I would say that Rebel Jones will probably get the nod.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Ndawy throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jones's waist but Jones gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ndawy off to one side.

That was a close second round but I would say that Rebel Jones will probably get the nod.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jones, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
