Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roger Penrose (ranked 874 p4p, 981 weight class) and Justin Case (ranked 27 p4p, 30 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Roger Penrose!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Justin Case!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Dirk Anderson and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Case misses with a left hand
and Penrose counters with a body kick.
Case throws a hook to the side of Penrose's head but Penrose sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Case lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Case uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Penrose.
Penrose seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Penrose looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Case has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Case tries to clinch
and Penrose counters with a nice body kick.
Justin Case seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice uppercut lands for Penrose. That snapped Case's head back.

It looks like Justin Case has been cut.
Penrose waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Case.
Penrose slips under a jab.
Penrose tries a head kick but it misses.
Case fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Penrose on the side of the head.
Case wants to clinch.
Penrose steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Case.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Penrose lands a right hook to the body.

Case closes the distance and clinches.

Case breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Case lands with a nice body punch.
Case connects with a good right hand that stumbles Penrose. Penrose circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Case swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Penrose counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Case connects with a right hand. Penrose shakes it off.
Penrose stuns Case with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Case looks winded!
Case misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Penrose.
A looping hook to the body misses from Case. Penrose does a little dance to reset his feet.
Case dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Case throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Penrose lands with a straight right. Case didn't see that one coming.
Penrose throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Case looks to land a right hand but Penrose moved out of range.
Case fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Penrose manages to avoid it.
Penrose is looking to counter with head kicks.

Penrose feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Case sprawling to the canvas! Case rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Penrose finish him?!
Penrose circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Case to the canvas! Case doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Penrose keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Roger Penrose!
An out of breath Roger Penrose thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
