Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edmond Honda (ranked 723 p4p, 827 weight class) and Gregory Motts (ranked 20 p4p, 21 weight class). Honda comes to the cage accompanied by E. Honda Stage Theme Extended. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 18 - 0, fighting out of New York, Edmond Honda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gregory Motts!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Honda works the jab nicely.
Honda throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Motts looks to throw the jab but Honda is out of range.
Honda misses with an uppercut. Motts saw that one coming.
Motts throws a hook but Honda blocks it.
Honda uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Motts.
Honda misses with a hook. Motts ducked under it nicely.
Motts throws a jab but it's blocked by Honda.
Motts connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Honda misses with a body shot.
Honda throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Motts.
Motts moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Motts throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Honda on the side of the head.
Motts throws a looping overhand right but Honda ducks down to avoid it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Motts thows a left - swing and a miss!

Motts is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Honda will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Honda looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Motts lands a nice shot that snaps Honda's head back.
Honda throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Motts keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Honda.
Honda bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Gregory Motts is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Honda blocks a jab.
Honda misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A nice side step and Motts releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Honda slips a jab from Motts.
Honda scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Honda drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Honda wants to control from the top but Motts keeps moving.
Honda wants to pass the guard but Motts is keeping the position.
Honda has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Honda with a flurry of punches that miss.
Motts looking to hit a scissor sweep but Honda is one step ahead there.
Motts avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Motts wants to sweep here but Honda controlling him for the moment.
Honda passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Honda is trying to ground and pound but Motts uses the momentary lack of control by Honda to regain half guard.

Honda thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Honda is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Honda seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Motts does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Motts is holding on to half guard well.
Honda is stalling here. Motts is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Honda seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Motts has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Honda is working hard here to advance position.
Motts happy to just control the position for now.
Motts trying to control the position but Honda is working away.
Honda gets back to half guard.
Honda wants to improve his position but Motts is controlling well.
Honda slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Edmond Honda will probably get the nod.

Motts keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Honda is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Motts can do to turn this around?
Honda working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Motts is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Honda scores with a couple of nice shots.
Honda not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Motts keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Edmond Honda overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Honda misses with a head shot. Motts uses the momentum to regain guard.
Honda has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Honda slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Honda connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Motts some visible discomfort.
Motts is trying to control Honda's posture but Honda avoids it.
Motts stops Honda from passing to mount.
Motts is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Honda lands a few punches from side control.
Honda sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Motts is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Motts taking punishment in the form of punches.
Honda working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Honda trying to control the position but Motts is working away.
Honda advances to mount.
Motts is trying desperately to improve position.
Honda with the ground and pound from mount.
Motts in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Oooooh, big shot lands for Honda! Motts is hurt baaadly! Honda is firing away with more strikes - Motts is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Edmond Honda!
An out of breath Edmond Honda thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
