Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Micah Hawk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bengt Strom!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawk lands a jab to the nose.

Hawk gets a takedown into half guard.
Hawk thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Strom is trying to stand.

Hawk is trying to work for a kimura but Strom is defending well.
Strom gets full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Strom can do anything to dispel that myth.
Strom keeping full guard, as Hawk tries to pass.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Strom working for a triangle but Hawk defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hawk accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hawk trying to control but Strom is working from the bottom.
Hawk with a flurry of punches that miss.
Hawk makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Hawk pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Strom is keeping the position for now.
Hawk working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Hawk is looking to work some ground and pound but Strom has wrist control.
Strom working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hawk.

Strom working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hawk doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hawk manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hawk with a nice head shot there.

Hawk drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Hawk as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Strom screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Hawk! Nice submission victory there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Micah Hawk!
Micah Hawk seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
