Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brent Huthe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pepe Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Huthe comes to the cage accompanied by Spit It Out . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pepe Perez!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perez is looking to clinch.

Perez throws a series of punches but Huthe avoids them all with ease.
Perez fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Huthe fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Perez, pushing him back against the cage.
Perez wants to break the clinch but can't.
Huthe is pushing Perez up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Perez tries for a takedown. No joy.

Huthe breaks the clinch.

and Huthe counters with a shoot takedown. Perez fights it but they end up in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Huthe won't allow Perez to get back to his feet.
Perez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Huthe lands a couple of digs.

Huthe postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Huthe stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Perez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Perez wants to clinch
and Huthe counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Huthe feints and as Perez raises his hands in defense, Huthe changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Huthe drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Perez manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Huthe has Perez in his guard.
Huthe on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Huthe tries to get out of the position.

Perez stands up over Huthe, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Perez has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Huthe is proving hard to escape from.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Huthe wants to sweep here but Perez controlling him for the moment.
Huthe is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Perez is trying to maintain the position but Huthe is very close to passing his half guard.
Huthe wants to free his trapped foot but Perez is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Perez wants to control but Huthe is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Huthe passes the guard and advances to mount!
A nice elbow there by Huthe.
Perez in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Perez wants to hold on but Huthe pushes him away.
Huthe can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Perez is looking to escape.
BOOM! Huthe connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Huthe has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Perez's face.

Perez tries to hold on but Huthe postures up.
Perez bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

You can see the frustration on Perez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Perez is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Huthe off and has taken his back!

Huthe prevents Perez from getting back to his feet.

Perez pushes Huthe off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Perez rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Huthe moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Perez tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Perez misses with a takedown attempt - Huthe sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Huthe is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Perez can't fight it off and eventually Huthe manages to take the fight to the floor. Perez looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Perez gets caught flat footed, as Huthe shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Huthe distracts Perez with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Huthe's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Perez can't keep his opponent in guard - Huthe advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Huthe is looking to advance position but Perez won't allow it.

Huthe perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Huthe wants to free his trapped foot but Perez is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Perez wants to control but Huthe is keeping busy.

Perez wants to get back to his feet.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Perez takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Perez wants to clinch but Huthe slips to the side
and Huthe counters with a one-two to the body.

Huthe closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Perez tries for a takedown but Huthe manages to get underhooks.
A nice right hand lands inside from Huthe.
Huthe has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Perez is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Perez wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Huthe tries to throw a body punch but Perez avoids it by throwing Huthe back against the cage.

Huthe is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Perez can't fight it off and eventually Huthe manages to take the fight to the floor. Perez looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Huthe tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Huthe has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Huthe working away.
Perez takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Huthe wants to control but Perez is keeping him busy.
Brent Huthe overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Huthe is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Perez looks calm but he's in trouble here. Huthe gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Perez is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Huthe lets go of the hold and Perez can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Brent Huthe!
