The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mcballin shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Assad Ii's guard.
Mcballin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Assad Ii is desperately trying to improve his position but Mcballin has a good base and remains in mount.

Mcballin postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Assad Ii looks a forlorn figure.

Mcballin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Assad Ii is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Mcballin locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Assad Ii is forced to tap!
