Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Choo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Legato Effrairo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Daniel Choo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Legato Effrairo!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Summer Carpenter and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Choo shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Choo throws out a leg kick but Effrairo moves out of range and Choo only half commits.
Effrairo looks to land a left hand but Choo moved out of range nicely.
Effrairo throws the left hand but Choo avoids the punch easily.

Choo looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Effrairo!
Choo avoids the attempt from Effrairo to control.
Effrairo is trying to escape the mount.
Choo avoids the attempt from Effrairo to control.

Choo is looking to work his way around to Effrairo's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Choo moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Effrairo has worked his arm free - good work by Effrairo!
Choo taking a break here but Effrairo is having none of it and regains half guard.
Effrairo won't allow Choo to pass to mount.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Choo trying to control the action but Effrairo is working from the bottom.
Choo trying to mount his opponent but Effrairo defends it.
Effrairo keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Choo moves into full mount! Effrairo won't be happy about that!
Choo tries to control but Effrairo wriggling away.

Effrairo is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Choo takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Effrairo is trying to stand back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Effrairo prevents Choo from getting a body triangle.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Choo looking for the choke but no joy.
Choo trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Effrairo defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Choo's arms.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Effrairo throws a hook to the side of Choo's head but Choo sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Choo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Choo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Effrairo as he jumps to the side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Choo scores a takedown into full mount!

Effrairo wants to hold on but Choo pushes him away.
Choo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Effrairo is looking to escape.
Effrairo reaches up and holds on to Choo to control the position.
Effrairo stops Choo from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Choo tries to control but Effrairo wriggling away.
Choo thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Choo trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Choo fails to move to back control.

Choo thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Choo is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Effrairo can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Effrairo can't escape the position.
Choo looking to ground and pound but Effrairo is blocking nicely.
Effrairo tries to hold on but Choo postures up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Choo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Effrairo is looking to escape.
Effrairo avoids a series of strikes thrown by Choo.
Choo controlling the position easily from mount.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Choo avoids the attempt from Effrairo to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Daniel Choo dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Choo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Effrairo circles away.
Effrairo looks to throw the jab but Choo is out of range.

Choo scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Effrairo tries to escape but Choo is in control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Choo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Effrairo keeps working.
Choo tries to advance to mount but can't.

Choo tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Effrairo is trying to control Choo's posture but Choo avoids it.
Choo controlling from side mount.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Effrairo circles away from the clinch attempt.
Choo fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Choo lands with a kick to the ribs.
Effrairo bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Effrairo keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Daniel Choo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Choo fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Choo. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Effrairo gets a clinch.
Choo blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Effrairo misses with a punch to the body.
Effrairo lands a body shot in the clinch.

Choo closes the distance and clinches up with Effrairo, looking for a takedown. Choo pushes Effrairo against the cage but Effrairo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Effrairo bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Effrairo misses with a hook. Choo ducked under it nicely.
Legato Effrairo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Choo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Effrairo circles away.
Choo slips under a jab.

Choo darts in and clinches Effrairo up against the cage.
Effrairo is looking to break free of the clinch but Choo has double underhooks.
Effrairo content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Effrairo keeps control of Choo as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Effrairo misses with a hook to the ribs.
Choo looking for a takedown.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Legato Effrairo.
I think Choo has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
