Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Valen Dreth (ranked 183 p4p, 1028 weight class) and Tommy Gavin (ranked 26 p4p, 114 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Percy O'Donnell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dreth throws a series of strikes that have Gavin backpedaling.
A swing and a miss from Dreth.
A big right from Gavin misses.
Gavin pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Gavin bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Dreth's head.
Gavin defending well as Dreth loads up on a big left hand.
A decent looking cross lands there for Dreth.

Gavin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dreth stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Gavin.

Gavin throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Dreth sees it coming and avoids it easily.
It looked like Dreth was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Gavin.
Gavin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Dreth throws a big counter combination but Gavin scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Dreth pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Gavin back to the cage. Dreth follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Gavin is rocked!
Dreth lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Gavin up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Dreth from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Gavin's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

A relieved looking Valen Dreth thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
