Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roger Penrose (ranked 1085 p4p, 2074 weight class) and Akil Paschal (ranked 33 p4p, 68 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Roger Penrose!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Akil Paschal!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Sandra Marshall and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penrose avoids a punch combination nicely.
It looked like Penrose wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Akil Paschal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Penrose with a nice calf kick.
Paschal closes the distance and clinches up with Penrose, looking for a takedown. Paschal pushes Penrose against the cage but Penrose circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Penrose leaves Paschal with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Penrose looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Paschal tries for a takedown but Penrose sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Roger Penrose has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Akil Paschal.
Penrose keeps Paschal at a distance using the push kick.
Paschal looks winded!
Penrose drops Paschal with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Paschal looks back up at him and smiles so Penrose waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
It looks like Akil Paschal has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Penrose ducks down and throws a big overhand right - it lands flush on the jaw, knocking Paschal out cold! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Roger Penrose!
