Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Fisher (ranked 3693 p4p, 2462 weight class) and Thiago Lourenco (ranked 344 p4p, 259 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 1, fighting out of New York, John Fisher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thiago Lourenco!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Jonathan Paton and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Fisher enables Lourenco to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Fisher manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Fisher being controlled here, momentarily.
Fisher wants to stand but Lourenco is controlling the position.
Lourenco tries to free his leg and advance position but Fisher is retaining full guard.
Lourenco works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Lourenco is working for a kimura but Fisher is defending it quite comfortably.
Fisher pushes Lourenco off looking to stand but Lourenco dives back in and keeps control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lourenco is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fisher is just riding it out for now. Lourenco eventually gives up the hold.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lourenco looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Fisher definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Lourenco is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Lourenco is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Fisher sees it coming and defends easily.
Lourenco wants to pass to mount but Fisher is defending the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Lourenco wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fisher keeps working.
Lourenco trying to pass the guard but Fisher defending well.
Lourenco is trying to control the action in half guard but Fisher is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Lourenco is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Fisher is staying active underneath Lourenco, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Lourenco is working for a kimura but Fisher is defending it quite comfortably.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lourenco wants to take a breather but Fisher is having none of it.

Lourenco is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Lourenco stalling away here and it's allowed Fisher to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Fisher keeping moving, preventing Lourenco from controlling successfully.
Lourenco slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Lourenco working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Lourenco passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Fisher!
Lourenco trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Lourenco fails to advance to Fisher's back.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Lourenco moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Fisher has worked his arm free - good work by Fisher!
Lourenco tries to advance to mount but Fisher denies him.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Thiago Lourenco dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Lourenco fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Fisher manages to avoid it.
Fisher throwing a counter right hand but Lourenco manages to avoid it.
Lourenco throws a head kick that misses
and Fisher counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Lourenco misses with a left hand
and Fisher counters with a crisp right that sends Lourenco to the canvas! Fisher follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Fisher!
Our winner, John Fisher, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
