Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Krishna Bhagavatapurana (ranked 2261 p4p, 24200 weight class) and Patrick Matthew (ranked 265 p4p, 643 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Krishna Bhagavatapurana!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Patrick Matthew!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jonathan Paton and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matthew slips a jab from Bhagavatapurana.
Matthew jabs Bhagavatapurana to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Matthew misses with a shot to the body
and Bhagavatapurana counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Bhagavatapurana goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Matthew tries to clinch but Bhagavatapurana moves out of range.
Bhagavatapurana connects with the punch.
Bhagavatapurana shoots in looking for a takedown but Matthew manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bhagavatapurana's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
A countering left hand to the body from Matthew misses.
A slow jab from Matthew misses its intended target.
Bhagavatapurana plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Matthew missing with a left hand there. Bhagavatapurana was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Matthew misses with an uppercut. Bhagavatapurana saw that one coming.
Bhagavatapurana tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Matthew defends well and Bhagavatapurana ends up having to push Matthew into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Bhagavatapurana tries to pull guard but Matthew won't allow it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Krishna Bhagavatapurana. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bhagavatapurana jumps guard but Matthew stands there with Bhagavatapurana around his waist. Bhagavatapurana gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Bhagavatapurana is looking for a takedown.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Matthew is pressed up against the cage. Bhagavatapurana has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Matthew down to the mat. Matthew avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Bhagavatapurana tries to move into range but Matthew moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Matthew has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Bhagavatapurana finds it's way round the side to connect with Matthew's head.
Krishna Bhagavatapurana seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Matthew connects with a nice looking jab.
Matthew tries to clinch there but Bhagavatapurana circles away.
Bhagavatapurana misses with an uppercut. Matthew saw that one coming.
Bhagavatapurana lands with a slapping head kick.
Matthew comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Matthew looks to land a left hand but Bhagavatapurana moved out of range nicely.
Patrick Matthew is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Matthew takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Nice shot lands for Matthew.
Matthew swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Matthew looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Matthew getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Matthew leaves Bhagavatapurana with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Matthew cracks Bhagavatapurana with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Bhagavatapurana tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Matthew pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Bhagavatapurana is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Patrick Matthew!
