These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akinwande throws a body shot but no joy.

Barrels closes the distance and clinches up with Akinwande, looking for a takedown. Barrels pushes Akinwande against the cage but Akinwande circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Barrels fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Akinwande.

Barrels gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Akinwande gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
