Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Caleb DeCoteau (ranked 3991 p4p, 6121 weight class) and Shogun Silva (ranked 492 p4p, 627 weight class). Shogun Silva is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

DeCoteau takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

It looks like Caleb DeCoteau has been cut.
Silva uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by DeCoteau.

Silva is pressed up against the cage. DeCoteau has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Silva down to the mat. Silva avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

DeCoteau throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Silva lands with an uppercut that bounces DeCoteau off the cage and back into range.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Shogun Silva dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Silva uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from DeCoteau.
Silva lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but DeCoteau circles away quickly and effectively.
No joy there for DeCoteau, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Silva throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
DeCoteau swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
DeCoteau shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Silva napping and manages to drive through into side control!
DeCoteau wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silva keeps working.
Silva manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Silva has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
