Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Darren Dixon (ranked 138 p4p, 176 weight class) and Crush Bandicoot (ranked 23 p4p, 26 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Darren Dixon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Crush Bandicoot!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Shimada and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bandicoot tests Dixon's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Dixon slips a straight right by Bandicoot.
Bandicoot fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dixon manages to avoid it.
Bandicoot takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Dixon closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Bandicoot quickly recovers to half guard.
Dixon trying to control from half guard but Bandicoot is working away.
Dixon wants to pass to mount but Bandicoot is defending the position.
Bandicoot has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dixon is working away from the top position though.
Bandicoot looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Bandicoot escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dixon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Dixon drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dixon jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Bandicoot throws his legs up looking for a submission but Dixon uses it to pass to side control.

Dixon fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Bandicoot to the ground. Dixon is now in Bandicoot's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bandicoot can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dixon controls the pace.

Dixon is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Bandicoot is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Dixon is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bandicoot can do to turn this around?

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Dixon cracks a nice hook into Bandicoot's ribs.

Dixon decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Still in half guard, Dixon seems content to control.

Dixon is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bandicoot is just riding it out for now. Dixon eventually gives up the hold.

Dixon throws a looping overhand right but Bandicoot ducks down to avoid it.

Dixon closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bandicoot to the mat! Bandicoot manages to get full guard.
Dixon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bandicoot swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Bandicoot looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Dixon has picked Bandicoot up and slammed him! Bandicoot can't keep hold of the triangle and Dixon manages to pass to side control!

The referee asks Dixon politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Dixon prefers to stall for the moment though.

Dixon wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bandicoot, who protects the arm well.
Bandicoot is trying to control Dixon's posture but Dixon avoids it.

Dixon tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dixon has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Dixon prevents Bandicoot from improving his position.
Bandicoot trying to control from the bottom.
Dixon is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dixon, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Darren Dixon decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
