PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Harris Reed (ranked 548 p4p, 949 weight class) and Bob Probert (ranked 75 p4p, 124 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Reed might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Beethoven's 5th Symphony. Probert has chosen DNA as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 0 - 2, fighting out of London, Harris Reed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bob Probert!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reed steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Probert.
Probert fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Reed manages to avoid it.
Reed throws a body punch but Probert moves out of range.
Probert with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Reed throws a lazy right hand but Probert sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Reed misses with a wild body shot.
A little jabbing left from Probert on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Probert scores with a jab.
Probert takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

It looks like Bob Probert has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reed misses the body punch
and Probert cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Reed misses with a looping right.
Probert lands with an uppercut that bounces Reed off the cage and back into range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Reed throws a body shot but no joy.
Probert throws a hook to the side of Reed's head but Reed sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
A nice leg kick lands there from Probert.
Probert thows a left - swing and a miss!
Reed takes one to the side of the head.

Reed drives through and clinches with Probert against the cage.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Probert creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Reed tries to score a body lock takedown but Probert shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Reed has Probert pressed against the cage, preventing Probert from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Probert breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Probert on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
A jab lands there for Reed.
A slow jab from Probert misses its intended target.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Reed comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Reed misses the jab.
Probert just misses with a punch to the body.
Probert misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Probert moves out of range as Reed strikes.
Probert ducks under a wild hook from Reed.
Probert throws out a counter right but Reed avoids it with no problem.

Reed bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Probert! He dives into his guard looking to finish!

Probert is rocked!
Probert wants to control but Reed passes easily into half guard.
Probert is still in real trouble! Can Reed finish him?
Reed winds up and cracks Probert with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Reed is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Probert is just riding it out for now. Reed eventually gives up the hold.
Reed drops an elbow to the side of Probert's head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Probert wants to control the action here but instead Reed manages to pass to full mount!
Probert wants to control but Reed is having none of it.
Reed connects with a bit shot that sees Probert covering up! More strikes from Reed and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Reed is our winner by TKO!
