Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dagestani Wrestler (ranked 3088 p4p, 2908 weight class) and Dave Sub (ranked 396 p4p, 372 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dagestani Wrestler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Sub!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Wrestler is defended easily by Sub.

Sub shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Sub was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Sub wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Wrestler, who protects the arm well.
Wrestler tries to bench press Sub off him but Sub keeps the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sub misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Sub is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Wrestler has escaped the position, nice work there.
Wrestler is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Sub is looking to advance position but Wrestler won't allow it.

Sub is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Wrestler still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Wrestler has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
Wrestler remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Sub is looking to reverse the position.
Wrestler wants to control but Sub is keeping him busy.
Wrestler staying calm.
Wrestler is looking to take a break and control but Sub is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Wrestler just content to control the position.
Sub is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Wrestler is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sub knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Sub tries to buck Wrestler off but Wrestler is having none of it.
Wrestler is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Sub will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Sub is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Wrestler's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Wrestler's back!

Wrestler trying to control the hands but Sub breaks the grip.

Sub is persistently looking for the submission but Wrestler is defending it well.

Sub tightening his grip on Wrestler, looking for the choke.
Wrestler wriggles onto his back under a barage of strikes.
Sub sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Wrestler wants to hold on but Sub pushes him away.

Sub with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Sub swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Wrestler is now in Sub's guard. A big mistake from Sub there, giving up the dominant position!
Wrestler not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Sub working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Wrestler doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Wrestler manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Wrestler avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Sub looks winded!
Wrestler advances position into side control!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
You can see the frustration on Sub's face as Wrestler controls the position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sub is looking to reverse the position.
Sub keeps trying to improve his position.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Wrestler shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sub but Sub pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Wrestler dives in and scores a takedown into Sub's guard.

Sub has his foot on Wrestler's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wrestler works his way back into a safe position though.

Wrestler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sub swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sub is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Wrestler is aware though and is defending well.
Wrestler wants to control from the top but Sub keeps moving.

Dave Sub has got the better of the ground game so far.

Sub looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Sub is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Wrestler has his hands clasped together but Sub extends and breaks Wrestler's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Sub.
