Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yoshida Gomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leonard Kinney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kinney has chosen Say It Ain't So as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kinney wants to clinch up but Gomi keeps it at a distance.
Kinney shoots for a takedown but Gomi saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kinney shoots in but no luck this time.

Gomi has Kinney up against the cage in a clinch.

Gomi pulls guard effortlessly.
Gomi bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kinney's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kinney is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Gomi wants to control from the top but Kinney keeps moving.

Kinney can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gomi controls the pace.

Gomi seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Gomi is trying to control the action in half guard but Kinney is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Gomi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kinney holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Gomi wants to advance to full mount but Kinney doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Gomi tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kinney swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Kinney manages to capitalize on a mistake by Gomi to take his back!

Gomi's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Gomi manages to reverse the position and now he's in Kinney's guard. Nice work there by Gomi.
Gomi connects with a couple of short punches.

Gomi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gomi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Gomi stays in close to Kinney's body and controls the position.

Gomi stands up and waves to Kinney to follow him.

Kinney gets caught flat footed, as Gomi shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Gomi decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Yoshida Gomi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kinney misses with a wild combination.
Gomi throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Gomi is looking to clinch but Kinney is avoiding it.

Gomi closes the distance and pushes Kinney back into the cage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Gomi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Kinney closes the distance but Gomi moves to the side

Gomi seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Yoshida Gomi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Gomi stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Gomi throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Gomi jumps into guard, dragging Kinney to the mat.

Gomi has his foot on Kinney's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kinney works his way back into a safe position though.

Kinney is trying to land a reversal but Gomi doesn't like that idea too much. He pushed the legs to the side and dives into side control. He's managed to grab a loose arm triangle. Gomi is tightening it up though! This could be trouble for Kinney! Kinney trying desperately to escape but he's gone limp! He's out! Wooooorld class Brazilian Jiu Jitsu from Gomi!
