Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Sainty (ranked 3990 p4p, 2841 weight class) and Vasily Grossman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vasily Grossman has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 33 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Sainty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vasily Grossman!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grossman swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Sainty changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Grossman loads up on a big right hand but Sainty slips the punch.
Sainty appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Sainty displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Grossman throws out the jab.
Grossman throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Sainty seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Grossman for as long as he can get away with.

Sainty is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Grossman is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Sainty is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Grossman doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sainty.
Sainty wants to free his trapped foot but Grossman is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Grossman is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Sainty has taken his back.

Sainty is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Grossman knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Grossman for a finish.

Grossman moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Sainty.
Grossman decides to stand back up. Grossman steps back and let's Sainty get back to his feet.

and Sainty decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Grossman's guard.
Sainty has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Grossman can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sainty controls the pace.
Sainty stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Grossman swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sainty not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Sainty wants to control from the top but Grossman keeps moving.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Grossman will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Sainty attempts a counter takedown but Grossman avoids it well and moves away.

Grossman pivots, looking for a leg kick but Sainty is out of range and Grossman settles back down.

Vasily Grossman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Grossman throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Sainty is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Grossman is just riding it out for now. Sainty eventually gives up the hold.

Sainty is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Grossman is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Sainty tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Sainty looking to control but Grossman is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Grossman is trying to escape the mount but Sainty keeps good control and instead manages to take Grossman's back.
