Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alain Aspect (ranked 1328 p4p, 2064 weight class) and Felipe Garotinho (ranked 176 p4p, 263 weight class). Both these fighters are unbeaten, so somebody's 0 has got to go!Alain Aspect is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garotinho shoots and misses
enabling Aspect to counter with a crisp jab.
Aspect just misses with a punch to the body.
Garotinho changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Aspect tries to avoid it but Garotinho manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Aspect to the ground. Aspect escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Aspect tries to counter by clinching up but Garotinho breaks away and moves out of range.
Garotinho's coach down at Simply The Best was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Garotinho's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Garotinho closes the distance and clinches up with Aspect, looking for a takedown. Garotinho pushes Aspect against the cage but Aspect circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Alain Aspect has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Felipe Garotinho.
Garotinho shoots in for a double leg but Aspect sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Garotinho is defended easily by Aspect.
An attempted straight right counter from Aspect misses the target.
Aspect uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

It looks like Felipe Garotinho has been cut.
Aspect definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Garotinho tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Aspect just stands there and leans against the cage.
Garotinho jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Aspect walks away with a smile on his face. Garotinho gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Garotinho takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Garotinho glances at the clock... BAM! Aspect nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Garotinho crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Garotinho is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
