These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shabazz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Wahwah ducks under a wild hook from Shabazz.
Wahwah throws a head kick that Shabazz semi-blocks.
Shabazz lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Wahwah fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Shabazz avoids it really well and circles away.
Wahwah pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Shabazz throws a lazy right hand but Wahwah sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wahwah is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Shabazz.

It looks like Kimbo Wahwah has been cut.
Shabazz keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Wahwah tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Shabazz paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Shabazz throws a jab when Wahwah was well out of range.

Wahwah on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Shabazz drops Wahwah with a beautiful combination! Wahwah stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Shabazz is looking for the KO!
Wahwah shoots in looking for a takedown but Shabazz manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wahwah's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Basil Shabazz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kimbo Wahwah.

Shabazz drops Wahwah with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Wahwah looks back up at him and smiles so Shabazz waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
