PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Emre Hussain (ranked 2860 p4p, 2118 weight class) and Kyle Seehaver (ranked 318 p4p, 250 weight class). Kyle Seehaver will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 32 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Emre Hussain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 24 - 1, fighting out of London, Kyle Seehaver!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paul Aken and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hussain closes the distance and clinches.
Hussain looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Seehaver drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hussain pulls his leg out and moves away.

Seehaver changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hussain looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Seehaver is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
It looks like Seehaver might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Seehaver is continuing to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hussain is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Seehaver is controlling him well.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The adventures of Seehaver the control monster continue. Boring.
Hussain wants to get back to his feet but Seehaver drags him back down.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Seehaver shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hussain is trying to defend but Seehaver finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Seehaver seems to be working for a kimura but Hussain defends the submission attempt.
Seehaver seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Hussain wants to get back to his feet.
Hussain has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
Hussain might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hussain is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Seehaver asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Hussain misses with a looping left.
Seehaver tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Seehaver.
It looked like Hussain wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Emre Hussain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kyle Seehaver.
Hussain throws a lazy right hand but Seehaver sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Seehaver shoots in for a double leg but Hussain sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Seehaver is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hussain defends it well.
