The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva avoids a punch combination nicely.
Gregory is looking to clinch.

Silva clinches up with Gregory and pushes him back against the cage.

Gregory has gone for a leg lock! Silva slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gregory's guard.
Silva has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Gregory had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Silva is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Gregory Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Silva's back instead.

Despite being in the dominant position, Billy Gregory just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Silva misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Silva shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gregory's guard.

Silva decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Gregory, up you get!

Silva throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gregory's waist but Gregory gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Silva off to one side.

Silva shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gregory pinned against the cage. Gregory gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gregory tries to bum rush Silva with a series of wild strikes but Silva uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
