Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Christian Simbolon (ranked 3367 p4p, 5508 weight class) and Stephen Hawking (ranked 421 p4p, 586 weight class). Simbolon comes to the cage accompanied by Welcome to the Jungle. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Christian Simbolon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Stephen Hawking!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, David Hoff and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Simbolon or perhaps it was just good defense by Hawking, which made it look bad.
Hawking keeps the fight on the outside.
Hawking throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Simbolon doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Hawking counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Simbolon throws a sloppy head kick
and Simbolon takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Hawking bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A jab from Hawking finds it's way through Simbolon's defenses.
Simbolon tries to clinch
letting Hawking counter with a right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hawking digs a good body shot into Simbolon's ribs.
Hawking scores with a shot to the body.
Hawking pounces like a tiger and cracks Simbolon with a vicious hook! Simbolon is down but not out! Hawking follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Stephen Hawking!
