The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aisland just misses with a punch to the body.

Aisland shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Alert defends it nicely.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Alert is defended easily by Aisland.

Alert drops back, looking for a kneebar! Aisland looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Aisland looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Aisland!

Alert really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Aisland is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Alert to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Alert shrugs it off.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alert wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Aisland.

Alert shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Aisland sprawls well. Aisland wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Alert gets slowly back to his feet.
