Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lyoto Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Claudio Barbosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machida comes into the arena with Lyoto Machida blaring out of the sound system. Claudio Barbosa acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Machida escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Barbosa gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Machida had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Barbosa is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Machida Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Barbosa's back instead.
