Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between James Steve (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Morrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, James Steve !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jim Morrison!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Patrick Alders and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morrison throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Steve tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Morrison paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Morrison looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Morrison pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Morrison throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Steve 's waist but Steve gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Morrison off to one side.
Steve doesn't manage to clinch there - Morrison circles away.
Morrison tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Steve swivels and escapes.
James Steve has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jim Morrison.
Morrison is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Steve tries to clinch up

and Morrison holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Steve lands a nice knee to the body.

Steve drags the fight down to the ground.
Steve is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Morrison trying to control but Steve is working from the bottom.

Morrison not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Morrison makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Steve wants to stand but Morrison is controlling the position.
Morrison throws and elbow that misses. Steve uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Morrison's guard. Nice move by Steve !
Morrison controls Steve momentarily but Steve frees himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Morrison is looking for a triangle but Steve pushes his legs off easily.
Steve postures up.
Morrison lands a decent shot there.
Morrison looks gassed!
Morrison is striking off his back. Steve thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.
Steve is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Morrison is looking for a sweep. Steve is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Steve wants to stand up but Morrison is controlling the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Morrison slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Steve wants to get up but he can't break Morrison's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Morrison working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Steve doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Steve manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Steve gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Morrison darts in and clinches Steve up against the cage.

Morrison jumps into guard, dragging Steve to the mat.

Morrison looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Morrison wants to stand up but Steve is controlling him.

Morrison is working an open guard so Steve takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Morrison changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Steve tries to avoid it but Morrison manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Steve to the ground. Steve escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Steve tries to clinch
and Morrison counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Steve tries to clinch but Morrison moves out of range.
Morrison throws a sloppy head kick and Steve moves out of range easily.
Morrison wants to land a leg kick but Steve is out of range.
Steve tries to close the distance and clinch but Morrison swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jim Morrison seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Morrison lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Steve tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Morrison counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Morrison.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Morrison won't allow Steve to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jim Morrison dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Steve tries to clinch but Morrison moves away

and Morrison counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Morrison decides to stand up.
Morrison shoots in for a double leg but Steve sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Steve wants to clinch but Morrison slips to the side

and Morrison counters with a takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Morrison working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Steve wants to get back to his feet but Morrison drags him back down.
Morrison laying and praying for a moment but Steve takes advantage and regains half guard.

Steve makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Steve tries to clinch up.
Morrison shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Steve but Steve pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Morrison misses with a double jab.
Morrison misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
James Steve has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jim Morrison.
Steve fails in his attempt to clinch.
Steve wants to clinch.
James Steve is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Steve tries to close the distance and clinch up but Morrison swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Morrison wants to clinch.
Steve keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

and Morrison counters with a straight right hand.
Steve fails in his attempt to clinch.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Morrison has taken the fight to the clinch.
Steve looking to throw knees to the head but Morrison is blocking nicely.
Morrison fails to pull guard.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Steve .
Steve goes for a takedown attempt but Morrison pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Morrison bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Steve 's head.
Steve tries to clinch up but Morrison circles away and keeps his distance.

Morrison closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Morrison jumps guard but Steve stands there with Morrison around his waist. Morrison gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Morrison tries to pull guard but Steve won't allow it.
Steve tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Steve lands with a left to the head.

Morrison drags the fight down to the ground.
Steve wants to get up but he can't break Morrison's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Steve is sitting in close to Morrison's body. Morrison has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Steve is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Steve is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Morrison.
