PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eric Hartin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan McManus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McManus is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Devil Went Down to Georgia. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eric Hartin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan McManus!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from McManus. No joy for Hartin on that attempt.

McManus remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

McManus closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hartin to the mat! Hartin manages to get full guard.
McManus throws and elbow that misses. Hartin uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in McManus's guard. Nice move by Hartin!
Hartin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

McManus fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hartin sprawls well initially but McManus persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

McManus postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
