PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Radoslav Petrov (ranked 1446 p4p, 2494 weight class) and Emre Hussain (ranked 191 p4p, 303 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Radoslav Petrov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 36 - 31 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Emre Hussain!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Daniel Blasius and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petrov scores with a jab to the body.
Hussain takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Hussain uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Petrov.
Hussain's coach down at 3Band MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hussain's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Petrov ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Hussain looks winded!
Petrov throws a body shot but no joy.
A little jabbing left from Hussain on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Hussain throws a hook but Petrov avoids it easily.

It looks like Emre Hussain has been cut.
Petrov looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
A good leg kick by Petrov.

Petrov moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Hussain goes down! Can Petrov finish him!?

Hussain is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hussain is looking to stand up but Petrov isn't so interested in that idea.
Hussain is still in real trouble! Can Petrov finish him?
Petrov forces his way into half guard.

Petrov moves into full mount! Hussain won't be happy about that!

Hussain seems to have recovered his senses.
Hussain trying desperately to get to his feet.

Hussain is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Hussain tries to buck Petrov off but Petrov takes his back!

Petrov seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

What can Hussain do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Petrov continues to stall.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Petrov's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Petrov fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Petrov lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Petrov slips under a jab from Hussain.
Petrov looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Hussain throws a jab but it's blocked by Petrov.
Petrov lunges at Hussain with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Hussain's hand.

That has opened up Emre Hussain's cut even more.
Petrov drops Hussain with a big left hand! Hussain is injured, injured bad! Petrov jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Radoslav Petrov!
Jumping up and down and very excited, Radoslav Petrov waved his t-shirt featuring HERBIZER's logo in front of the cameras.
