The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Negi throws a jab but it's blocked by Du Plessis.
Du Plessis went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Negi takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Du Plessis displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Negi.
Du Plessis appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Negi throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Du Plessis throws a chopping leg kick but Negi manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Du Plessis feints and as Negi raises his hands in defense, Du Plessis changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
